    Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia.  AGIG manages over 40,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity.  The company employs over 500 team members and manages a contractor workforce of approximately 1,600 who provide specialist, operating and maintenance services on AGIG’s gas distribution networks.

    Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this newly created senior role has emerged as the organisation transitions through significant growth and expansion.  As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Group Head of Finance is a national role with responsibilities for both operational and corporate areas and provides finance/commercial advice to the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer. Specific responsibilities include:

    • leading and supporting a national, high-performing, values-driven finance team that partners with the business to provide financial management of business units, corporate and financial services;
    • managing the monitoring and delivery of key financial targets and performance metrics;
    • managing Board and Committee information ensuring timely and accurate financial statements and reports;
    • championing operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements and business integration;
    • fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace for all employees, contractors and partners;
    • supporting AGIG’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility working towards enabling net zero;
    • building people capability, embracing diversity and supporting continuous learning and development;
    • collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including the CFO, CEO, management teams, operational teams, auditors, consultants and industry bodies.

    Applications are invited from CA/CPA qualified candidates with proven experience in a senior financial leadership role within a large, integrated business.  Energy or regulated utilities experience will be well regarded but is not essential.  Strong expertise in financial systems and reporting frameworks will be important and business process integration and improvement experience would also be extremely beneficial.  The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills with the ability to lead high-performing teams through a significant period of transformation.  Exceptional attention to detail, outstanding relationship building and interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, a strong customer focus and the ability to effectively respond to competing demands will also be essential qualities sought.
