With its head office in Adelaide, 150 dedicated staff and a turnover approaching $25m, HAMB Systems Limited (HAMBS) is a values driven and profit for purpose Australian company owned by 15 private health insurance funds across Australia representing 25 brands.  For over 30 years, the sole objective of the company has been to provide ongoing application software development, technical support and a selection of secure wide area network services, including application hosting, to the member funds.

Providing oversight for transformation and strategic direction, HAMBS is seeking a forward-thinking and experienced independent board director who will contribute to the governance, strategic direction and management of the organisation.  The Board comprises of a number of representatives from member funds and three independent board members, including the Chair.

The specific skillset sought for this appointment encompasses strong technological and financial acumen, credibility and relevant qualifications (high level ongoing ICT professional development and/or CA/CPA preferred).  Applications are encouraged from senior finance and technology professionals with a robust background in finance and governance and exposure to a comparably diverse and complex technology business, ideally within a high regulated industry.  It is expected that candidates will demonstrate high level leadership, communication, negotiation, strategic thinking and stakeholder management skills and have board experience, with GAICD status being desirable.  The appointee will be attractively remunerated.
