    For more than six decades Barossa Village has been an integral part of the Barossa community, earning trust and recognition for its dedication to serving an ageing population.  A community owned, not-for-profit entity, Barossa Village provides a comprehensive range of services including residential and respite care, independent retirement living and in-home care to the Barossa area and its surrounding regions.  Revenue is c$30m and the team comprises 260 dedicated employees, supporting service providers and around 100 volunteers.

    The fully accredited residential facility offers state-of-the-art accommodation and is supported by highly qualified clinical and carer professionals, a detailed wellbeing program and an accomplished cohort of allied health professionals.  The person-centred model of care ensures optimum quality of life for residents and clients, delivering services that align with the organisation’s values of Collaboration, Creative Thinking, Courage and Compassion.

    The General Manager – Residential Services provides strategic and operational leadership across the Barossa Village’s Residential Aged Care facility promoting wellbeing, ensuring high quality care, maintaining regulatory compliance and driving financial performance.  Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, a member of the Executive Management Team and leading a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, key responsibilities for the General Manager include:

    • facility management and performance monitoring including resource allocation and service delivery;
    • driving a culture of high performance, accountability and continuous improvement;
    • supporting the human resources management including recruitment and retention, development and motivation, workplace culture and employee wellbeing;
    • monitoring and evaluating quality and safe clinical and non-clinical outcomes ensuring regulatory compliance, policy and procedure development and risk management;
    • proactively and positively leading change and growth initiatives and innovations in line with overall strategic direction;
    • working collaboratively with the Barossa Village Board and Clinical Governance Committee to ensure alignment between operational practices and governance requirements;
    • building engaged and meaningful stakeholder relationships with residents, families, the local community and internal associates.

    Applications are encouraged from experienced senior management professionals with a strong knowledge of quality care expectations and contemporary issues relating to the aged care industry.  Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and inspire an experienced team, instil a positive service culture and maintain effective risk and financial management will be sought.  A collaborative interpersonal style, superior communication skills and the ability to plan and remain flexible in a changing environment are important qualities.
