Seymour College is one of Australia’s leading independent day and boarding schools for girls, with a proud history spanning more than a century.  At Seymour, they celebrate the growth and accomplishments of every student across academic learning, co-curricular pursuits and service, recognising these as true measures of a girl’s character, capability and contribution.  Guided by the vision to develop women of strength, optimism and justice, Seymour prepares young women to engage with the future with confidence and purpose.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished music and performance professional to lead Seymour’s dynamic and highly regarded Performance Program.

Reporting to the Deputy Principal – Wellbeing and Operations, this newly structured role is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of a vibrant and high-quality performing arts program.  The role leads and inspires a diverse team of coordinators, tutors and performance professionals across strings, Celtic, bands and percussion, choral and contemporary music, dance, music theatre and other ensembles.

Applications are encouraged from appropriately qualified and experienced music and performance professionals with leadership experience in a comparable role either within or outside schools.  Teaching qualifications are not a prerequisite. High level organisational and stakeholder management experience along with exceptional communication skills are critical to the success of the role.

An attractive remuneration package and flexible conditions (including additional leave) are offered to reflect the out-of-hours nature of the role.

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead and shape a thriving program within a passionate, well-resourced learning environment and to further strengthen Seymour’s performance program.
