Basketball South Australia (Basketball SA) is the peak body responsible for the governance, growth, and strategic direction of basketball across South Australia.  Its role spans across governance, competitions, officiating, coaching, high-performance pathways, education, inclusive pathways, infrastructure advocacy, and community engagement.  Basketball SA works collaboratively with associations, clubs, government, schools, and industry partners to deliver programs and services that enable basketball to be accessible and impactful in every corner of the state.

Following the appointment of Tim Brenton to a senior role with Basketball Australia, Basketball SA seeks to appoint a new CEO to continue to deliver on the current strategy which has seen basketball thrive in SA.

Reporting to the Basketball SA Commission (Board), key responsibilities include:

• overseeing the ongoing operations and administration of the organisation to ensure best utilisation of resources;
• proactively developing and enhancing relationships with a range of key stakeholders including Basketball Australia, members, government entities, peak bodies, corporate sponsors and partners, community groups and the media;
• delivering on the 2025-2028 Strategic Plan and overseeing all financial operations, including annual budgeting, asset management, capital expenditure and cash flow reporting;
• overseeing stadium operations and working closely with the stadium teams to drive sustainability and promote a strong service delivery culture;
• leading, motivating and developing the dedicated team.

Applications are sought from both established and emerging executives with a proven track record in strategic and operations management, commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement.  A collaborative style, combined with energy and vision, will be key to building on Basketball SA’s strong foundations and driving future success.  The ability to lead with integrity, inspire high performing teams and connect meaningfully with the broader community are critical.  Senior leadership experience in sports administration, operations and/or venue management will be well regarded.
