    With a proud history dating back to 1864, the Payneham & Dudley Park Cemeteries Trust has been serving the South Australian community for generations providing dignified and peaceful resting places for loved ones at both the Dudley Park and Payneham sites.  A not-for-profit incorporated association, the Trust is an important part of South Australia’s heritage and continues to preserve and develop these peaceful and serene gardens and memorials for remembrance, reflection and honour of the memories of loved ones.  A small team of experienced and dedicated staff ensure that facilities and services are maintained to a premium meeting the needs of families and loved ones at difficult times of loss and beyond.

    The General Manager reports to the voluntary Board of Trustees and provides strategic and operational management for the full portfolio of cemeteries infrastructure, activities and services in accordance with its Constitution.  Key areas of responsibility will include:

    • long-term sustainable financial management of the organisation including budgeting, financial analysis and reporting;
    • compliance with all relevant legislation and statutory obligations;
    • leading the small administration and operations teams of the Trust to achieve best practice, workplace safety and a positive and compassionate culture;
    • as Secretary and Public Officer of the Trust work closely with the Board and Committees in the execution of appropriate governance practices;
    • advise on industry trends and oversee major development projects;
    • champion the Payneham & Dudley Park Cemetries building and maintaining strong relationships with industry stakeholders, partners and other current or potential community participants.

    Applications are encouraged from appropriately qualified and experienced executives with a demonstrated track record of team leadership in a community facing/service industry arena.  Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, project management skills, relationship building capability, a customer first orientation, a continuous improvement mindset, energy, warmth, and authenticity will be key to success in this role. Both emerging and proven professionals are welcome.
