
MADEC Australia is a successful community owned not-for-profit organisation with a proud 50+ year history. Employing around 180 staff across the country and with a turnover circa up to $200m, MADEC delivers employment services, education and training and workforce solutions.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager will lead MADEC’s national workforce division through a significant phase of operational transformation and growth. The workforce division currently on-hires up to 2,000 workers, which are sourced through both on-shore solutions and the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme. This is a pivotal, high impact role responsible for reshaping the division’s operating model, strengthening commercial performance, modernising systems and processes, and building a scalable platform for future diversification into sectors experiencing skills shortages.
This mandate requires a seasoned operational executive with deep experience leading complex, multi‑site environments and delivering measurable uplift in performance, structure, technology and financial outcomes.

Commercial acumen and strategic thinking combined with strong leadership, relationship building and negotiation skills will be expected. The successful candidate will have a collaborative mindset, high level communication abilities and an absolute commitment to the delivery of exemplary customer service.
Exceptional leadership, commercial acumen, stakeholder management and communication skills are essential. Experience managing multi‑site teams, navigating regulatory environments and leading high volume operations will be highly regarded, as will strong knowledge of employment law, WHS and compliance frameworks.
With frequent travel expected, this position can be based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney.
