    Nganana means “all of us” in the Pitjantjatjara language of the Aṉangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara people of remote central Australia. Nganana Inc. is a not-for-profit community development organisation specialising in support services from a cultural and inclusive perspective and employs around 150 staff with a turnover circa $10m.  Nganana is a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) registered organisation currently working exclusively in the disability sector with ambitious but realistic diversification plans to expand into other sectors and broader Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities.

    Reporting directly to the Board and working closely with Nganana Incorporated’s Founder, Stephen Edwards, key responsibilities include:

    • leading, motivating and developing the committed and passionate staff to deliver high quality services and outcomes in a safe, transparent, inclusive and supportive environment;
    • overseeing the day to day operations of the organisation and ensuring its overall successful long term operations;
    • ensuring compliance, sound governance and effective reporting to the Board;
    • monitoring the board approved budget and managing daily financial operations to ensure maximum utilisation of resources and optimum financial positioning for the organisation.

    The successful candidate will be an appropriately qualified executive with demonstrated capability to lead an organisation through ongoing reform and growth.  NDIS sector experience is a distinct advantage but candidates with leadership experience from comparably regulated and complex human/social services sectors will also be considered.  Strategic thinking, contemporary leadership, strong financial acumen and highly developed communication and negotiation skills are essential, as is the warmth, empathy, integrity and credibility necessary to lead Nganana through its next phase of growth.
