    MADEC Australia is a successful community owned not-for-profit and charitable organisation with a proud 50+ year history of providing relief to people experiencing poverty and/or distress.  Employing around 180 staff across the country and with a turnover circa up to $200m, MADEC delivers employment services, education and training, a pacific labour mobility scheme and indigenous programs.

    With multiple roles on offer and reporting to the General Manager – Labour Hire, the Regional Manager is a pivotal leadership role overseeing operations across South Australia, Queensland or New South Wales.  Central to the role is a deep commitment to the care, wellbeing and empowerment of Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme workers and the onshore workforce.  Key responsibilities include:

    • acting as the primary point of contact for clients across the region, fostering trusted and professional relationships;
    • partnering with clients to understand workforce requirements, service delivery expectations and identifying opportunities to grow within existing agreements;
    • overseeing the scheduling and deployment of PALM scheme workers and onshore employees to meet client demand;
    • coordinating and overseeing the arrival, induction and orientation of PALM scheme workers and providing ongoing support to workers including pastoral care, welfare services and access to resources that enable them to thrive;
    • driving a culture of respect, wellbeing, collaboration and high performance across the workforce;
    • leading, mentoring and supporting the on-the-ground operations team;
    • championing a strong safety culture, conducting regular site visits, safety checks and risk assessments, and addressing hazards promptly.

    Successful candidates will be experienced in people management, client relationship management or within a similar people-intensive industry.  Experience in labour hire operations is not essential.  The ability to build and manage client relationships, including identifying growth opportunities, will be important as will the ability to work across multiple locations.  Other qualities sought include strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, resilience, commercial acumen, high levels of integrity, excellent stakeholder engagement abilities and a solid knowledge of WHS practices, compliance frameworks and risk management.

    Regional Managers will be based close to their area of responsibility and applications are sought from candidates in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne with frequent travel expected.  For more experienced candidates, consideration will be given to allocating additional responsibilities of a national nature.
