Lutheran Disability Services (LDS) is a well-established, Christian values based South Australian organisation supporting over 80 adults living with disability. With a team of 250 dedicated and passionate staff, clients are supported in connecting to their community, learning new skills, increasing independence, and accessing accommodation options to lead fulfilling lives.  LDS works closely with clients’ families/guardians and is committed to person-centred care, consultation, communication, and partnership with its clients.

Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for:

• developing and executing plans aligned to the strategic outcomes as agreed with the LDS Board;
• leading the organisation in alignment with LDS’s values, to foster staff engagement and develop capability and change readiness;
• providing astute leadership to ensure quality compliance, risk management and financial sustainability;
• promoting LDS’s mission through effective communication with the community of clients, families/guardians, staff, and the LDS Board;
• ensuring strong, productive, and highly engaged relationships with external stakeholders including NDIS, Government, business partners, funding bodies, and church communities.

Applications are encouraged from appropriately qualified and experienced senior executives with the commercial acumen and humanistic qualities to ensure sustainable leadership of this highly valued disability services entity.  A genuine affinity with key stakeholders, proactive leadership skills, strategic financial acumen, and highly developed communication abilities combined with warmth, empathy, authenticity, and good character are essential.  Knowledge of the NDIS environment will be highly regarded.  Strategic management experience leading a comparably complex human services or related business with alignment to Lutheran Disability Services’ person and family-centred care approach will be important.
