St Mark's College

St Mark’s College was founded in 1925 as the first university residential College in Adelaide.  Comprising a vibrant and diverse community whose life comes from its members, the College today combines the best of tradition with a modern and progressive outlook and is home to an active student community of over 200 students.

Reporting directly to the recently appointed Independent Chair and College Board and living in the College grounds, the Head of College is a diverse and unique management role.  Responsibilities include providing leadership and oversight in regard to all aspects of the life of the College including academia, pastoral care, finance, marketing, public relations and fundraising, strategic planning and operations.

Whilst respecting and maintaining the College’s history and traditions, the Head of College is expected to lead cultural renewal and champion the wellbeing of students ensuring a responsive, positive, collegiate and safe College experience.  Also important will be responsibility for sound management, financial sustainability and ensuring the College enjoys a good standing with the universities and the broader community.

Applications are invited from suitably experienced and qualified individuals with demonstrated success in a comparably service-focussed position.  Amongst the executive attributes sought are sound judgement, authenticity, integrity, energy, high level communication, coordination and negotiation skills, commercial acumen, and the warmth, vitality and cultural sensitivity necessary to perform in this important role.
