    Formed in 1964, Barossa Village is a community owned not-for-profit organisation providing a full range of retirement living and aged care services within the Barossa and surrounding regions.  With revenue around $25m and circa 400 employees including contractors and volunteers, the organisation is recognised as an innovative and forward-thinking service provider and aims to deliver a person centred model of care which ensures optimum quality of life for its residents and clients.

    Reporting to the General Manager, Corporate Services and working closely with the senior leadership team, the role will develop and execute HR and people management practices to support achievement of the organisation’s strategic and operational delivery outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

    • leading, coaching and developing a small People and Culture team (x 1.7 FTE);
    • providing support, contemporary advice and coaching to leaders as the senior HR advisor across a range of HR matters including performance management and development, employee relations, wellbeing, employee engagement, recruitment and talent development;
    • driving and implementing attraction, recruitment and retention strategies;
    • reviewing and enhancing HR systems, policies and processes;
    • contributing to strategic planning relating to workforce planning and management;
    • providing advice to ensure compliance with FWA, enterprise agreements or industry awards;
    • developing and implementing employee engagement, culture and wellbeing initiatives.

    Applications are sought from appropriately qualified human resources professionals with well-developed HR generalist experience in performance management and development, employee relations, recruitment, HR operations, policy and process.  Team leadership experience is desirable.

    Highly developed interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities, a proactive attitude, and a professional and collaborative approach to managing people and culture related matters are essential.  Excellent organisational skills and a natural coaching style in developing capability with staff and leaders will also be important.

    Based in Nuriootpa in the stunning Barossa Valley, this is a great opportunity for a HR generalist seeking a leadership to make a valuable contribution with a highly purpose driven and connected community-based service provider.  The role would suit a professional who enjoys working across the broad HR suite to further develop and operationalise processes, systems and initiatives that directly impact positive employee and business outcomes.

    Part time 0.8-1.0 FTE and condensed working arrangements will be considered to support flexibility.
