Minda is the largest not-for-profit disability service provider and employer in SA, providing advocacy, support and services to enable people living with an intellectual disability to live their best lives.  All Minda programs and services are provided by more than 2,000 highly skilled staff consisting of disability support workers, health professionals, administrators and volunteers.  They are guided by our values of Respect, Heart, Opportunity and Community.

Minda has emerged from a significant period of transformation with renewed clarity, strengthened foundations and a bold strategic direction for the years ahead.  As they enter a phase of purposeful growth – expanding individualised living options, elevating service excellence, deepening lifelong relationships, and embedding the voice of people with intellectual disability at the centre of all they do – they are strengthening and futureproofing the governance regime to support the strategy.  To this end, they are seeking an Independent Chair of the Nominations Committee to guide and oversee the selection of future Board members.  This is a pivotal governance role for a leader who understands contemporary Board practice and is committed to shaping a capable, values‑aligned Board that reflects Minda’s ambition and the community they serve.

Applications are encouraged from appropriately qualified professionals with demonstrated experience facilitating comparably important governance processes.  Once selected, the successful appointee will work closely with Hender Consulting to refresh the skills matrix for the Minda Board and then move through a comprehensive Board Director search and selection process.  An appropriate professional fee will be offered to secure a high integrity individual to undertake this critical independent function.

This is a significant and pivotal time to assist in the selection of a newly configured Board and add genuine value to this most worthy and iconic South Australian organisation making a true difference in the community.
