Music is a legendary component of the St Andrew’s experience, permeating the School community and its success record. Reporting to the Deputy Principal and contributing to school leadership, the appointee will lead a passionate team of 20 full-time and part-time music professionals. At St Andrew’s 80% of students play one or more musical instruments. Additionally, 27 ensembles and choirs representing a range of musical genres deliver multiple live performances each term. Two full music theatre productions are held every year and all students in Years 2, 3 and 4 participate in specialised instrumental programs. In many respects, music and performing arts is the crowning jewel of this highly regarded educational institution, standing proudly alongside its distinguished record of academic excellence, market leading STEM offering and significant wellbeing, sport, co-curricular and experiential learning programs.
After more than three decades of dedicated service to the School, the much loved and admired Head of Music, Anna Coppens, will depart the position at the end of the year in order to pursue her many other interests, creating an exciting opportunity to build on her strong and positive legacy.

Extensive conducting experience will be highly regarded, as will the capacity to lead and engage with a wide cohort of teaching, student and stakeholder groups.
