    Situated on a spacious 25 acres of grounds, McGregor Campus caters to the needs of over 400 students from 6 weeks of age in the Early Years (which enrols boys and girls) through to Year 6 in the Junior Years.  The well recognised Prep year in the Junior Years is a flagship program for four-year-old girls, preparing them for the commencement of school.

    About the Role

    The Head of McGregor Campus is a key member of the Executive Team, reporting directly to the Principal, Vanessa Browning.  With oversight of the Early Years through to Year 6 and responsibility for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the Junior Years (P-6), the Head of McGregor Campus will work closely with the Principal and the College Executive in the development and implementation of key College strategic priorities.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Lead and nurture the Head of Early Years, OSHC/Vacation Care Manager and Junior Years leadership team and, together with the Assistant Head of McGregor Campus, advise, guide and support Junior Years staff;
    • Guide the ongoing excellence in teaching and learning through effective delivery of contemporary pedagogy, teaching and pastoral care practice;
    • Lead wellbeing of both staff and students through collaboration and engagement and development of effective programs and practices;
    • Play a pivotal role in community leadership ensuring cohesive relationships between parents, staff and students working closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Director of Enrolments and Community Relations; and
    • Proactively contribute to a culture of positivity, inclusion and strong learning consistent with the School’s core values.

    Essential Skills and Experience

    The successful applicant will be an appropriately qualified expert in primary education conversant with current pedagogy and pastoral practice.  Highly developed interpersonal skills, energy, commercial acumen, warmth, diplomacy, professionalism and vision necessary to guide the Junior Years through its next chapter of successful development.  A genuine commitment to girls’ education and affinity with the vision of Seymour College will be vital.

    Key attributes sought include:

    • Suitable tertiary qualification in Education;
    • Postgraduate qualifications desirable;
    • Registration of ability to gain registration to teach in South Australia;
    • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC);
    • Depth of curriculum knowledge;
    • Demonstrated experience and skills in teaching and learning;
    • Capability to lead and manage a diverse range of professionals; and
    • Demonstrated achievement in steering school change and development.
