Carers SA is a not-for-profit organisation that has supported unpaid Carers across South Australia for more than 35 years, helping people care for family and friends while navigating complex systems and life-changing circumstances.  Operating as a statewide service provider with approximately 100 dedicated staff, the organisation delivers critical programs and services directly and through trusted partnerships.  As the lead provider of the Australian Government’s Carer Gateway program in SA, the organisation provides assessment and planning, coaching, counselling, peer support, young carer services, emergency respite and tailored support packages and plays a key role in driving advocacy and impact, raising the voice of Carers and translating lived-experience insight into meaningful system improvement.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, this senior management role provides strategic and operational leadership across Carers SA’s service delivery portfolio, holding accountability for performance, quality, compliance and outcomes across both direct and partner-delivered programs.  Key responsibilities include:

• leading service delivery operations to achieve agreed outcomes, performance targets and contractual requirements;
• developing and leading high-performing operational leadership teams across a geographically dispersed workforce;
• overseeing demand planning, financial management and effective use of resources across programs;
• ensuring service quality, risk management, compliance and continuous improvement;
• building effective relationships with government, funding bodies, service partners and key stakeholders.

Applications are invited from experienced senior leaders with substantial operational and program leadership experience in community services or related human services environments.  You will demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, strategic and operational planning expertise and a highly relational leadership and communication style.  A calm, authentic presence, sound professional judgement and strong commercial and financial acumen are essential, including the ability to balance service demand, funding constraints and performance accountability with compassion and empathy.
