Resthaven Incorporated is a highly respected leader in the rapidly growing aged and community services sector in South Australia.  Engaging a dedicated and passionate workforce of over 3,400 and with an annual turnover circa $280m, Resthaven has residential, retirement and community sites across metropolitan Adelaide and regional South Australia, delivering quality services to older people and their carers.

After more than a decade of exemplary service, the current incumbent, Tina Cooper, has announced her retirement. Resthaven now seeks a proven executive to lead the organisation’s clinical governance, risk and quality portfolio to deliver contemporary care and services, meet required standards and compliance and achieve the strategic objectives of Resthaven.  The role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer as an important member of the Executive Management Team.  Key responsibilities include:

• ensuring focus is given to the provision of quality and safe care to residents and clients;
• corporate responsibility for ensuring Resthaven’s Clinical Practice Manual is reviewed and is current for use across residential and community services founded on evidence based practice;
• coordinating and delivering clinical education across Resthaven to upskill and develop staff;
• provide leadership in the implementation and monitoring of quality and risk management systems.

The successful applicant will have broad multi-faceted senior management experience in aged care or a similar human services sector environment.  Demonstrated experience and understanding of corporate governance frameworks, risk management and quality systems, together with proven effectiveness in initiating and implementing change within a comparable highly regulated and consumer focused industry, are essential.  A collaborative interpersonal style, superior communication, influencing and negotiation skills and the ability to plan and remain flexible in a changing environment are important qualities.  Relevant qualifications in nursing, allied health, management or social sciences will be well regarded.
