    Based in Adelaide, Australian Naval Infrastructure Pty Ltd (ANI) is the owner, developer and manager of ship and submarine building infrastructure in support of the Commonwealth’s continuous naval shipbuilding program.  Since being formed in 2017, ANI has developed an enviable reputation for delivering significant major projects and facilities.

    ANI is currently focussed on the expansion and modernisation of the Osborne Naval Shipyard into a world-class shipbuilding precinct, including design and construction of the nuclear-powered submarine construction yard, and the continued operation and maintenance of Common Use Infrastructure.  To deliver on this significant program of work, ANI is expanding with the creation of a number of new key positions.

    Reporting to the Manager, Physical and Cyber Security, this position will drive the establishment and implementation of the data governance and information management framework across the organisation to ensure alignment with Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) requirements. Key deliverables will be to:

    • establish and maintain an organisation-wide strategy encompassing data governance, quality, metadata management, and security;
    • oversee development and maintenance of a data quality program to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data assets;
    • manage metadata standards and processes for proper data documentation, ease of location and understanding;
    • collaborate with the Physical and Cyber Security team to develop and implement data security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with DISP and other regulations;
    • define and clarify roles and responsibilities in data governance, ensuring accountability for stewardship and ownership of ANI’s data assets;
    • act as a liaison to communicate and clarify data related business requirements for sensitive data protection, integrating into operational prioritisation and planning;
    • coordinate the Information Governance Working Group and deliver information sessions for ANI staff;
    • enhance and maintain regular reporting on data management and governance initiatives.

    You will demonstrate significant experience in a senior data governance/management role with exposure to building and implementing an enterprise-wide governance strategy.  You will bring a deep understanding of data management and governance practices, business and technology issues related to the management of enterprise information assets in a sensitive data environment.  Knowledge of data related defence/government/regulatory requirements and emerging trends, excellent project management discipline, highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing abilities will also be important.
