    Nature Foundation is a leading not-for-profit and apolitical organisation that invests in conserving, restoring, and protecting South Australian landscapes, flora, and fauna to ensure their survival.  It has contributed to the protection of more than 1.15 million hectares of South Australia, owns and manages 500,000 hectares of terrestrial and wetland ecosystems, and is the third largest non-government conservation land manager in Australia.

    The Nature Foundation’s current portfolio of nine reserves includes Watchalunga, Tiliqua, Geegeela, Bullocky Bridge, Murbpook, and Mongolurring, together with Witchelina and Hiltaba Nature Reserves, which are large enough to have full-time site-based Conservation Land Managers.

    Reporting to the Senior Conservation Land Manager, this newly created Adelaide-based position is responsible for the operational management of programs and projects to ensure effective conservation and land management of Nature Foundation reserves.

    Key outcomes for the role include:

    • improved nature conservation outcomes are realised through effective biodiversity and wildlife management;
    • employees, contractors and volunteers are empowered, motivated and encouraged to meet performance goals and deliver operations safely;
    • effective partnerships with the community and key stakeholders are maintained in support of beneficial conservation and land management outcomes;
    • high impact conservation outcomes through the effective and coordinated execution of work plans and work program implementation in line with best practice standards;
    • Nature Foundation reserve visitation programs are supported in a professional and appropriate manner.

    Applications are encouraged from candidates with current knowledge of and experience in ecological and nature conservation management principles and practices combined with a fundamental understanding of contemporary approaches to the management of land, projects, risk and visitor services.  The successful applicant will also demonstrate effective leadership, interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills, the ability to deal with complex or sensitive issues or conflicts and form sustainable partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  Tertiary qualifications in environmental management or another relevant discipline are highly desirable, but consideration will be given to candidates with land management experience and strong practical skills.

    Nature Foundation are seeking enthusiastic and passionate people to join a growing team of professionals committed to expanding the business to deliver high quality biodiversity conservation outcomes and make significant contributions to a nature-positive future.
