    With its head office in Adelaide, 150 dedicated staff and a turnover approaching $25m, HAMB Systems Limited (HAMBS) is an Australian company owned by 15 private health insurance funds across Australia representing 25 brands.  For over 25 years, the sole objective of the company has been to provide ongoing application software development, technical support and a selection of secure wide area network services, including application hosting, to the member funds.

    Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board, this newly created role is a critical member of the leadership team supporting the strategic direction of HAMBS. Responsibilities include:

    • proactively contributing to the strategic direction and achievement of organisational goals as the key internal financial advisor to the CEO and Board;
    • overseeing the financial performance of the business, including diversification and growth opportunities;
    • ensuring detailed analysis and information provision to support and articulate key business decisions;
    • leading, managing, mentoring and developing the finance and associated corporate services teams;
    • maintaining and enhancing important relationships with key external stakeholders.

    Applications are encouraged from contemporary, strategic and commercially focused CA/CPA qualified senior finance professionals ideally with experience in technology or professional services sectors and demonstrated success driving the scaling of businesses, alongside a CEO.

    Essential qualities include well developed commercial and technological acumen, with superior communication, negotiation, stakeholder management and leadership capacity combined with strong governance.  An empathetic leader demonstrating integrity, strategic insight and credibility will also be necessary to identify, inspire and enable positive change.  An attractive senior executive remuneration package will be negotiated to secure a high calibre candidate to financially steer the further development of this successful and trusted national entity.
