    Pedare is an independent, co-educational Anglican and Uniting Church school with over 1,150 students from Reception to Year 12. Founded in 1986, the College is situated at Golden Grove in the northeast of Adelaide, 30 minutes from the CBD.

    Pedare is committed to fostering partnerships with families that enable students to excel in their learning, develop a strong sense of self-worth and the skills to contribute to local and global communities.  The Junior School offers a broad, engaging, dynamic and student-centred curriculum.

    Reporting to the Head of Junior School and a member of the Junior School Leadership Team, the Assistant Head contributes to the strategic direction of Pedare to ensure its continued success.  Providing leadership, vision and support for the educational and pastoral care focus, this position is central to enabling students to achieve educational outcomes through a curriculum that embeds a love of learning and the pursuit of excellence.

    Key areas of responsibility include:

    • effectively leading and managing Junior School staff in pastoral care and engagement and relationship programs;
    • effectively delivering the student engagement program for the Junior School ensuring high-quality pastoral care for students and support for staff and families;
    • guiding and managing the student leadership program for the Junior School including training and induction of student leaders, community captains and representatives for the Student Voice Council;
    • managing daily operations of the Junior School including events, timetabling, daily coverage and relief teaching;
    • partnering with leaders in Middle and Senior Schools and community stakeholders in the delivery of whole College programs, events and extra-curricular activities;
    • fulfilling a 0.2 teaching responsibility and deputising for the Head of Junior School.
